Transactional Analysis is based on the idea that a person’s personality can be in three states: Parent, Adult, and Child. In different situations, a person’s psyche switches between these states. The essence of the therapeutic method is to learn to recognize and differentiate these three ego-states and, through various techniques, learn to change negative patterns into healthier ones, understand how to learn about oneself through others, and improve one’s self-esteem. It also teaches setting healthy boundaries in interactions with others.
